Aerialist, Coach, Choreographer, The Audacity Project
I don’t think I would be where I am today as an aerialist and performer without Veronica! I have trained with handfuls of instructors over the years, but Veronica’s approach is definitely unique. No other coach has paid so much attention to the finesse and grace behind simple movements, and no other coach has been as skilled in reading students’ bodies and knowing exactly the feedback to provide to help them succeed and to push themselves further.
I feel so blessed to have been able to learn from Veronica early on in my aerial career. She doesn’t just teach aerial skills, but how to move as a performer. I still carry a lot of her teachings with me now, and I believe that if I had not trained with her, I wouldn’t have the same depth of experience, precision and technique, and ability to access aerial silks as a performance art that I do today.
Coaches who know how to build true artists are few and far between. After six years of training tissu at various schools, I had memorized a lot of tricks, but lacked the technical foundation needed to make them flow and exude my own style in the air. Veronica drills hard on both, and in a year of working with her she has transformed me from student into creator. Anyone who gets the chance to work with her has truly lucked out.
Veronica was my first aerial coach and by far one of the best ones I’ve ever had. She managed in a short period of time to teach my techniques and ways of thinking on rope and tissu that has stuck with me since.
One of the most important mottos for training was that if we couldn’t easily climb high enough to do a drop, we weren’t ready for it. This encouraged me to not only focus on the skills, but also on the strength, making me a better aerialist all around, and also have less injuries.
I honestly would not be the artist and aerialist I am today had I not been given such a strong foundation by Veronica.
Veronica isn’t just an aerial instructor, but truly a coach and performer at heart. She allows her students to explore their interests and develop their own style, but also focuses on foundational skills to elevate every level of training. Her attention to detail – from a toe point to a body movement – is unmatched. I can confidently say that she has taught me to be more than just a casual student, but a performer. Her passion for circus arts reignited my love for aerial, and I’m so fortunate to have started training with Veronica!
